NotePOD is a secure laptop for 3C (Connected Collaborative Computing) networks, built on a long-lasting ThinkPad T-series platform with an energy-efficient Intel CPU. It bridges the gap between personal computing and edge infrastructure, allowing users and developers of 3C networks to carry a fully operational edge node on the road while ensuring cybersecurity compliance through autonomous local agents. Model provided is a refurbished ThinkPad T14.

NotePOD acts as a plug-and-play edge server node managed through the Rapid.Space panel. IT workloads deploy automatically at the edge and are accessible worldwide through Rapid.Space CDN. Critical services can be migrated on the road without losing the benefits of cloud automation. NotePOD also maintains a local copy of the digital infrastructure — ERP, CRM, factory MES, or digital workspace — resilient to Internet outages or network congestion, ensuring continuous operation even during public cloud unavailability.

Zero-Knowledge compliance is built in: autonomous agents running entirely locally on NotePOD automate compliance with cybersecurity regulations from Europe, China or other organisations, without sharing passwords or credentials with Rapid.Space. This makes it ideal for sensitive applications in defence, government, and research requiring full reversibility and offline operation. Compliance agents are modular and can be customised or extended to match new regulations or organisational requirements.

NotePOD integrates Theia PaaS — the Web IDE used by SAP, IBM and Ericsson — for service lifecycle automation and extension. An optional USB 4.0 software-defined radio (SDR) turns the laptop into a mobile 5G network simulator or 5G UE simulator with full Amarisoft vRAN support (3GPP Release 18). For industrial environments, NotePOD includes a built-in PLC compatible with IEC 61131-3 and an OPC-UA coupler for industrial automation, along with a built-in data collection gateway supporting 100+ IoT protocols including MQTT.

Low latency is ensured by a Linux kernel with PREEMPT_RT for hard real-time processing, IEEE 1588v2 for high-precision time synchronisation, and IEEE 802.1 TSN for time-sensitive networking. NotePOD can be integrated into a disaster recovery mesh alongside EdgePODs deployed across multiple sites, or combined with Rapid.Space VPS and third-party clouds for indestructible redundancy.

Powered entirely by open source software — Ubuntu GNU/Linux, SlapOS OSS/BSS, Galene PTT, Delta.Chat messaging, haproxy CDN, Netframe workspace, and Beremiz PLC — NotePOD's software is immune to extraterritorial jurisdiction, making it a cost-efficient and sovereign building block for SimpleRAN infrastructure.
